Snoop Dogg Tie-Up in Marijuana-Delivery Startup Eaze

*Rapper Snoop Dogg would like to trademark Leafs By Snoop, his new line of marijuana-related products that he launched in Denver, Colorado in November. According to The
Cannabist, his products include lighters, marijuana flowers, and assorted cannabis products, including edibles.
“Leafs By Snoop is truly the first mainstream cannabis brand in the world and proud to be a pioneer,” Snoop told The Cannabist after the launch. “LBS is blazing a trail for the industry.''
Snoop’s trademark application with the U.S. Trademark and Patent Office is being challenged by Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, the parent company of the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs. The company is claiming that the Leafs By Snoop logo, which features a gold, seven-pointed leaf, with the words “Leaf By Snoop” in white block letters on it, is too similar to their team’s logo, a blue maple leaf-bearing white text that says “Toronto Maple Leafs.”
The Maple Leafs filed their opposition to Snoop’s trademark application on June 8, and asked the USTPO for time to present a more detailed case. Intellectual property professor Christopher Sprigman told TSN that he understand the Leafs argument that Snoop’s logo would cause confusion in the marketplace, possibly damaging the team’s brand, but he doesn’t believe their detailed opposition will be very convincing. “I don’t see a lot of overlap between Colorado pot smokers and Maple Leafs fans,” he said.
TMZ caught-up with the stand up comedian and his former ex as they exited the Los Angeles restaurant The Serving Spoon together, and while Hazel and Williams are staying mum on the subject of reconciliation, sources close to the couple have apparently told TMZ that the two are indeed back together.
